Challenges to Curriculum Design and Effective Implementation.

Novotel Warszawa Centrum + workshops organised in educational institutions in Warsaw

 

Purpose: The aim of the Global Forum event in Warsaw is to exchange experiences across the OECD countries regarding the design and implementation of effective curricula. The participants will have the opportunity to discuss challenges faced by curricula authors and education designers while structuring education, i.a. how to include the issues of migration, digitalising education, children with special needs, how to support teacher development. Themes of the Forum will be equity, diversity, inclusion, empowerment and digitalisation. The event will provide an opportunity to share good practices, solutions and proven strategies that can become an inspiration for Poland and other countries. 

 

Speakers include current and former ministers of education, specialists on curriculum design and implementation, education experts and researchers in the field.

 

Participants: government representatives from OECD countries, experts, teachers, academics, school leaders, community partners and students.


The Forum will have two parts: 

Day One (Dec. 16, 2024)

is a workshop day on a variety of topics related to inclusive education, multicultural & multilingual pedagogies, digitalisation of education, student agency and professional development of educators. Workshops and study visits will showcase Poland’s solutions in these areas and will provide space to discuss best practices and possible improvements.

  • Workshop 2: Teacher Development: A Holistic Approach to Professional Support
  • Workshop 3: Vocational Education and Training for Modern Challenges
  • Workshop 4: Career without Barriers: Counseling for Diversity
  • Workshop 5: Effective Pedagogies Supporting Multilingual and Multicultural Learners
  • Workshop 6: Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Vocational Schools.

 

Day Two (Dec. 17, 2024)

will serve as a high-level discussion forum on the effectiveness of the curricula to secure social development and influence the shape of the future workforce. Notably it will include introductory remarks by the Polish Minister of Education and a masterclass by top specialists in the field related to evidence-based curriculum design and implementation, and challenges we face when implementing solutions.
