Pragmatics of the dynamic use of the multimodal mode in foreign language learning for regional bilinguals in Bukovina

The issue of studying language and understanding the phenomenon of multimodality is still a topic of discussion. This paper looks into the challenges faced by local bilingual students (Romanian-Ukrainian) while learning English. The goal is to explore the motivations behind using a multimodal approach in English classes at Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU).

What’s new in this study is the application of multimodal pragmatics to support beginners in learning English within a medical school setting. The findings suggest that the dynamic use of a multimodal approach was significantly more effective than traditional academic methods. Bilingual students who engaged with this approach demonstrated better outcomes compared to those who followed the conventional academic path.
