The updated Sectoral Qualifications Framework for Water and Wastewater Management, Reclamation and Remediation (SQF WWMRR) contains a number of new and modified competence descriptions. These are the result of the need to adapt to the numerous multifaceted changes that have taken place in the sector since the first qualifications framework for water and wastewater management, reclamation and remediation was prepared. Another important objective of the update is to reflect the growing importance of green competences. As part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the people working on the SQF WWMRR update developed a broad range of green competences. This is in line with the challenges of addressing climate change and the green economic transition, which affect not only the sector itself, but also Poland’s education system and labour market. The SQF WWMRR update responds to the sector’s current competence needs, as well as adapting its structure and form to current methodological standards for developing competence frameworks.
