The updated Sectoral Qualifications Framework for the Construction Industry (SQFC) contains a number of new and modified competence descriptions. These are the result of the need to adapt to the numerous multifaceted changes that have taken place in the sector since the first qualifications framework for the industry was prepared. Another important objective of the update is to reflect the growing importance of green competences. As part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the people working on the SQFC update developed a broad range of green competences. This is in line with the challenges of addressing climate change and the green economic transition, which affect not only the construction industry, but also Poland’s education system and labour market. The SQFC update responds to current industry competence needs, as well as adapting its structure and form to current methodological standards for developing competence frameworks.
