IBE PIB presents the Graduate Profile for post-primary school students

We invite you to take a look at the Graduate Profile for post-primary school students. It is a modern tool supporting the development of competences and preparing young people for the labour market and further education.

The post-primary school Graduate Profile is one of the key elements of the comprehensive, research-based education reform. It is linked to the Graduate Profile for preschool and primary school pupils – together, these documents create a coherent picture of the outcomes of education from an early age until the end of school education.

The document identifies the key values, competences and areas of knowledge needed for life, work and further education.

The publication consists of two parts. The first presents the theoretical assumptions: the role of the Profile in contemporary teaching paradigms, an analysis of the competences developed in schools, and forecasts of future demand for competences. The second describes the elements of the Profile – values, competences, agency, and areas of knowledge that should shape the work of secondary schools.

The document was based on the Graduate Profile for preschool and primary school pupils and opinions gathered during consultations conducted from March to June 2025. As a result, it combines the knowledge of experts with the practical experience of the educational community.
