Briefing on IBE’s Scientific Council meeting

A meeting of the Scientific Council was held on March 2 at the headquarters of the Educational Research Institute. A summary and photo gallery of the meeting are presented below.

The plenary meeting of the IBE Scientific Council was attended by:
 Assoc. Prof. Arkadiusz Jabłonski, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Chairperson of IBE’s Scientific Council
 Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Regulska, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, Deputy-Chairperson of IBE’s Scientific Council

 Dr. Jakub Koper, Deputy Director of IBE for Finance and Development
 Michal Przymusiński, Deputy Director of IBE for the Digitalisation of Education and Science
 Assoc. Prof. Paweł Gondek, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Deputy Director of IBE for Research
 Ireneusz Baranowski, Deputy Director of IBE for the Integrated Qualifications System
 Radosław Brzózka, Head of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Education and Science, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Education and Science for Educational Strategy and the remaining members of the Scientific Council of the Educational Research Institute.

Those present at the meeting were informed of the appointment of new members to the Institute's Scientific Council by the Minister of Education and Science. Assoc. Prof. Joanna Wyleżałek of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and Director of its Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy presented a project about establishing a network of natural science secondary schools at life sciences universities in Poland. The Scientific Council decided to establish a Department of Media Education and Artificial Intelligence.

The deliberations also included by-elections for members of the committees functioning at IBE, and an opinion was expressed on the IBE's annual financial plan for 2023. The Council also expressed an opinion on the plan of the directions for thematic scientific research, development and implementation work for 2022 and 2023.
The Scientific Council accepted the report on the activities of the editorial team of the journals Biological and Environmental Education (EBiŚ) and Education (Edukacja) for 2022.
